Enjoy samples of specialty beers from micro-brews throughout New England and enjoy tastings of signature treats from several Hartford area restaurants. All that, plus live music from The Happening, games, emcee Scott Haney and an appearance by WCCC radio personalities.

Family Programing at the Old State House

The Old State House has been host to a variety of family events since the beginning of the year. Drop-in First Saturday programs are held from 11a.m. – 4p.m in the whimsical and immersive Holcombe Education Center and are great for kids of all ages. After a visit to the Education Center, families have many options a the OSH to entertain and amuse themselves: exploring the Historic Rooms and Steward’s Museum of Curiosities, visiting the highly interactive History is All Around Us exhibition, or trying out the audio tour.

History Is All Around Us

Adults and kids will enjoy this colorful, contemporary, and interactive exploration of Hartford’s past. History meets high-tech in this eye-popping, 6,800 square foot, permanent exhibit, bursting with stories of Hartford and the history in our everyday lives over six centuries. From family histories to Hartford’s industrial legacies, hundreds of images and artifacts fascinate amid a backdrop of primary color, inventive lighting, movement, and sound. Chock-full of colorful, innovative interactives and displays.
